Film review: Wadjda

Every now and then, a film comes along that changes the world. Sometimes, you don't even realise it's doing it.

World War H – or hate’s not all that

What do Shyamalan, World War Z and Man of Steel have in common? Hype - and hate.

New Rise of the Planet of the Apes Trailer (Comic-Con) Includes Gorilla-Horse Smackdown Print E-mail

I've been more than vocal in the past about my love of James Franco, Rise of the Planet of the ApeDeep Blue Sea-like appearance and the general cataclysm of hairy awesomeness that was the most recent Rise of the Planet of the Apes trailer. But with this new trailer, from Comic-Con, Rise of the Planet of the Apes is looking better than ever.

How much better? Well, it finally answers the age-old question: who would win in a fight between a gorilla and a horse?

(Spoiler: The gorilla wins.)

I'll warn you that there is a danger of some serious simian spoilerage in the video (an evil scientist may or may not die), but Rupert Wyatt's blockbuster continues to look impressive. Especially the bits where the smart, angry apes with the embiggened brains blow everything up. Not a fan of character arcs and emotional mo-cap? This video of pure monkey carnage is for you.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is out on Friday 12th August.  Read on to witness total ape-ocalypse.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes is out on Friday 12th August - the same day as Project Nim. See what we think will happen when Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Project Nim wage full-on chimpanzee war.
