As if the upcoming Raindance Film Festival 2011 wasn't enough, today marks the start of the 31st Cambridge Film Festival - 10 days of exciting films in the UK’s tweediest city. This year, it's spread from the Arts Picturehouse (its spiritual home) to include the Cineworld (Unlimited members can use cards).

It opens with Tomas Alfredson’s Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy, introduced by the director and cast. Nicolas Winding Refn will also present Drive and Paddy Considine will screen his directorial debut Tyrannosaur.

The festival has several UK premieres, including Dimensions: A Line, A Loop, A Tangle of Threads, The Help and Woody Allen’s Midnight in Paris. Special events include Mark Kermode's book tour and Peter Bradshaw talking to Tartan Films' Hamish McAlpine.

Throughout, we'll bring you reviews and interviews from the best non-London-based film festival (except for all those other ones that are also pretty good and stuff). Head this way for the festival box office.
