That sounds way better than Titans Will Clash. In fact, the whole thing looks rather awesome, even with the movie's new embiggened title.
Judging by the first trailer, Rupert Wyatt's prequel to the Planet of the Apes franchise has a lot going for it. There's James Franco, Andy Serkis, Freida Pinto AND Tom Felton getting their funky monkeys on - and Brian Cox too. Sadly not that Brian Cox (it would be great if the Wonders of the Universe presenter brought about the Fall of the Planet of the Humans).
Judging by the Livestream event held last night by 20th Century Fox, Rise is as much about the character of head chimp Caesar (Serkis) as it is about flashy motion-capture effects. But don't worry: the trailer has more than its fair share of apes on cars, apes on buildings, apes on your face... It's a full-on apeocalypse, baby! Making ape brains bigger and smarter? It's like Deep Blue Sea, but with monkeys. And brains. Which is pretty much my dream movie.
But whatever, I still won't be happy until they start using real monkeys to act in summer blockbusters. Like Ben Affleck.
Read on for the new trailer (which has risen over at Apple) as well as the Livestream footage. The film swings into cinemas on Friday 12th August. And yes, MY APE IS RISING.
Rise of the Planet of the Apes is out on Friday 12th August - the same day as Project Nim. See what we think will happen when Rise of the Planet of the Apes and Project Nim wage full-on chimpanzee war.
