Every now and then, a film comes along that changes the world. Sometimes, you don't even realise it's doing it.

World War H – or hate’s not all that

What do Shyamalan, World War Z and Man of Steel have in common? Hype - and hate.

The trailer for Michael Jackson's This Is It has been revealed by Sony Pictures. The film, which will hit cinemas on Wednesday 28th October, will be released for a limited two-week engagement worldwide. At the helm is High School Musical's Kenny Ortega, director of the original concert (as well as Dangerous and History) and Jackson's creative partner for more than 20 years.

Kenny commented: “This film is a gift to Michael's fans. It’s a very private, exclusive look into a creative genius’s world. It is raw, emotional, moving and powerful footage that... shows a consummate performer working with and guiding singers, dancers, band members, choreographers, special effects creators and countless other creative members of the team. You see him as the true architect and driving force of this project – a true master of his craft, the Entertainer of Entertainers. I’m proud of the many years of friendship and creative association I shared with Michael and I’m happy that people will get a chance to see his spirit and drive in action.”

Chronicling the months of April through June 2009, This Is It is drawn from more than 100 hours of behind-the-scenes footage, providing fans with that much-desired glimpse of Jacko at work. The trailer is exclusively online over at the BBC (we'll have the full video here tomorrow morning), but keep reading to be dazzled by the pretty multi-coloured poster. Tickets go on sale on Sunday 27th September - expect them to sell quickly.
