Futurama is coming back! *Victory dance* Yes, after the four feature-length outings (effectively several episodes sandwiched together), Comedy Central - my new heroes - have commissioned a full series of Futurama. I'll just repeat that, because it felt so good:
Comedy Central have commission a full new series of Futurama.
The series, by Simpsons creator Matt Groening, was cancelled by Fox - grr - in 2003, leaving the superior sci-fi sitcom to sit, rotting, by the wayside. But, like most of TV's best who suffered a similar fate (Family Guy, Arrested Development, Firefly), there is hope for fans thanks to strong DVD sales and high ratings for Comedy Central's repeats.
Writer David X. Cohen has confirmed that the original voice cast will probably return, with content closer to the original comedy series, as opposed to the epic scale of the recent DVD 'films'. He better get scribbling quickly: there are 26 episodes to come. Yes, 26! *Victory dance*
