Happy World Book Night! What better way to celebrate the most brilliant (and oh-so-British) idea of giving away 40,000 books in one night around the UK than listening to Werner Herzog read some bedtime stories? (Let's face it: Age of the Dragons crapping all over Herman Melville's Moby Dick is hardly a worthy celebration.)

In case you haven't seen any of the legendary "Werner Herzog Reads..." series, they're brilliant. Mainly because they're just videos of Werner Herzog. Reading. Ok, so it's not really Werner Herzog, but anyone who points that out is probably just bitter because they can't read anyway.

So if you missed World Book Day this week and have no-one to give you a free copy of The Spy Who Came in from the Cold, enjoy the world's most mental German film director, cave explorer, and Headmaster of Benjamin Sniddlegrass's Fairport Academy reading Where's Waldo:

And now here he is reading Winnie the Pooh:

Have a great World Book Night everyone. And whatever you read, remember that there is nothing in life except CHAOS, HOSTILITY AND MURDER.
