Andrew Dominik will reunite with Casey Affleck on a project that will delay Dominik's planned biopic of Marilyn Monroe.
Blonde, which was due to star Naomi Watts, was conceived as a warts and all look at Monroe and was set to start shooting in January. But Dominik seems to have shuffled his slate around to accommodate Affleck, last seen behind the camera for I'm Still Here.
While promoting the mockumentary, Affleck mentioned that he would be reteaming with Dominik, who worked with him on The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.
The pair are adapting a crime novel set in Boston, but Affleck hasn't revealed much more than that: "I don’t know if I’m allowed to talk about it, but it’s a Boston-based crime… It’s based on a novel set in Boston, but it’s not going to be set in Boston, unfortunately."
Expect more details on both this and Dominik's promising Monroe project in the coming months.
