Bob Hoskins, the man who has taken down rival gangsters, dressed up as Super Mario, and worked with animated rabbits, has found himself a new hobby: fighting aliens.
Hoskins has signed on to the British sci-fi flick Transmission, alongside Jason Flemyng, Willem Dafoe and Talulah Riley. It's a neat cast list to see off an alien invasion, which is fortunately exactly what happens. Although we don't know much else about the plot.
Bob's long Friday goes bad when extra-terrestrial folks attack Earth during a solar eclipse, bringing with them 3D cameras. Described by Moviehole as "Pitch Black meets 28 Days Later", Transmission has an Oscar-winner at its helm: Roger Christian, the man not only involved in the art direction on Stars and Alien, but also the director of Battlefield Earth. I'll let you figure out which one the Oscar was for.
