Film review: Wadjda

Every now and then, a film comes along that changes the world. Sometimes, you don't even realise it's doing it.

World War H – or hate’s not all that

What do Shyamalan, World War Z and Man of Steel have in common? Hype - and hate.

Mark Millar, the now even-more-legendary comic book writer, has officially announced that production on Kick Ass 2 will start next year. "Balls to the Wall", the sequel to the phenomenally warped original, will have a cinema release sometime in 2012.

With Matthew Vaughn presumably still attached, cast members Aaron Johnson and Christopher Mintz-Plasse have made their interest in returning quite clear. Mintz-Plasse hinted to Total Film that Kick Ass 2 will be a "blacker, more violent affair" with Red Mist taking some "particularly dark turns".

Two years is a sizeable wait for a follow-up to the twisted and original premise, but Millar isn't slowing up: Clint, his new comic book magazine out in September, will apparently let fans find out what happens two years in advance.

Millar's ingenuity as a writer aside, could a movie sequel really keep up the originality? Will this be a crazy alternative to The Dark Knight, or a spandex-wearing Speed 2: Cruise Control?
