Film review: Wadjda

Every now and then, a film comes along that changes the world. Sometimes, you don't even realise it's doing it.

World War H – or hate’s not all that

What do Shyamalan, World War Z and Man of Steel have in common? Hype - and hate.

Two-thirds of the way into Stephenie Meyer's barmy conclusion to the Twilight saga, one thought occurs to the average reader: vampires should wear condoms. Change one letter and you're there.

Yes, Bill Condon has signed on to direct Breaking Dawn, the final outing for Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. In which things get seriously messy. And messed up. Still, the Dreamgirls director is all fired up for it:

“I'm very excited to get the chance to bring the climax of this saga to life on-screen. As fans of the series know, this is a one-of-a-kind book - and we're hoping to create an equally unique cinematic experience."

Whether this unique experience - which sees a vampire pregnancy bring about death, psychic powers and inter-species relationships - will be split into a double whammy of two films is still unannounced, although the box office potential would make it very tempting for Summit Entertainment.

Melissa Rosenberg's still working on the script at the moment. Presuming she hasn't bashed her head in with a typewriter by now.
