Iron Man Three Review

It's not a superhero movie. It's a Shane Black movie with superheroes in it. And that makes it awesome.

Headhunters expands into more UK cinemas

You remember that record year for Norwegian cinema I was going on about last week? The one led by the phenomenal box office success of Headhunters? Well, the Nordic wave continued over here last weekend, with Headhunters taking £264,769 from 83 screens at the UK box office - a cracking average of £3,069 per screen.

As a result, Morten Tyldum's wonderful slice of Scandinavian noir is targeting another 22 cinemas across the country from tomorrow, including Birmingham's sexy Electric cinema and Cambridge's beautiful Arts Picturehouse.

Jo Nesbø’s Headhunters sees the flashy life of recruitment expert (and part-time art thief) Roger Brown (Aksel Hennie) literally covered in crap as he runs for his life from a psychotic Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (taking time out from bonking his sister in Game of Thrones).

It's a superb thriller that manages to be gripping, tense and hilariously twisted - our Headhunters review is here - and with 105 cinemas under its belt, NOW YOU HAVE NO EXCUSE NOT TO SEE IT.

As of tomorrow morning, you can now find it in the following movie theatres:

Come to Sweden. We have vampires, racists and serial killers. And Kenneth Branagh. That's the message we get from most Scandinavian fiction. But after Troll Hunter and King Curling, Norway looks like an equally promising place to visit. There are monsters, barmy locals and, judging by this film version of Jo Nesbo's Headhunters, some very ambitious art thieves.

Roger Brown (Hennie) is a recruitment expert. A headhunter. By day, he spoils his wife and splashes about cash like a rich, tall person. By night, he steals paintings to pay for it all and worries about being only 5' 6". Then, along comes Clas Greve (Game of Throne's Coster-Waldau). A former army man with the looks of David Beckham and the brains of someone who isn't David Beckham, he's the perfect fit for the CEO position Roger's trying to fill - not least because he's got a long-lost Rubens hanging in his flat.

Come to Sweden. We have vampires, racists and serial killers. And Kenneth Branagh. That's the message you get from most Scandinavian fiction. But after Stieg Larsson and John Ajvide Lindqvist, Norway's Jo Nesbo has added his country to the fray. And judging by this film version of his novel Headhunters, it's a country worth visiting. Not even Ken Branagh can rival such brilliant nonsense.
